SNOWDON IN SUMMER

SNOWDON IN SUMMER

Nestled amongst the jagged peaks at the highest point above the sea in beautiful Wales is a place where the Wild Goats are your companions.Enjoy the views of the dramatic knife edge ridge of Crib Goch, known as “red ridge”, behind you and the remnants of an industrial past in the old mining Hendres.

High above your head you will hear the high-pitched mewing of the red kites as they call “weee-ooo ee oo ee oo ee oo”. Skylarks sing their delicate song, a song you will only hear high up on a moorland or mountain. A song you will never forget.

The eyes are gifted with the most glorious views of the many mountains as far as the eye can see. All waiting to be explored, all waiting to have their landscapes woven.

Some other supplies I use:

The Loom, I use is a Tapestry loom with a Heddle Bar.

For the warp I use cotton or wool and have various stick shuttles and wooden needles that all help to weave the fibres.( I have a video tutorial on Tools in my Library )

I also have a gatherings bag to gather textures in the form of Lichen, Moss, Grasses, Heather, small branches etc. These are usually what i’m drawn to as i’m walking to my Pleinair weaving location.

We also have a selection of Free to Air Tutorials to help & inspire you in your Weaving journey.
