Warping a loom

In this tutorial I show how I put a warp on my loom with a heddle bar.

ITEMS USED : A small tapestry loom or similar with a Heddle Bar, approximately 20 metres of wool or cotton for the Warp and a pair of Scissors or snips.

The loom I use is a Tapestry loom with a heddle bar and It measures 50cm high x 40 cm wide.

Heddle Bar – The Heddle bar is a genius piece of equipment for your loom. how it works is that the warp threads are placed through the heddle bar allowing the warp to be separated making it easier and quicker to weave your yarn or fibre through the Warp.

The Warp – The warp is the threads that are strung vertically top to bottom on the loom under some tension. For this Warp I have used wool.

The Weft – The weft is the fibres that you weave between the warp to create your piece.
